From
Smithsonian, "The next fifty years will witness an amazing increase in wealth and prosperity, with a continuous rise in the world standard of living. The threat of world overpopulation will disappear with ample space for everyone, thus removing one of the long existing causes for wars and revolutions." I think it is funny that people thought that all of the world's problems would magically go away. Fifty years ago people had a positive view for the future. It also says that most diseases should be cured, the average age will be around one hundred. A few predictions from
BBC that became true were mobile phones, pre-prepared meals, television, and the rising height of Americans. The most interesting predictions are from
Mental Floss. People predicted that we would be walking on water with balloons holding us up, weather machines, and undersea ships, which is partly true today with submarines. The trends I saw were mostly technological advancement, which I don't think there will ever be a limit to. Three predictions from me would be more cures to diseases, advancement in technology like space exploration and artificial intelligence.
